Of course, there are records that may be of assistance in doing background checks in the World Wide Web, through a number of online databases. Note, however, that these online databases are not affiliated with the government, but despite of this, they still provide the same information as government offices and departments. Faster and more efficient, some of these databases actually do not charge the user anything for the use of their services.

To request for copies of criminal records of a subject, follow the given procedure

  • Head over to the records division of the sheriff office
  • Inform the staff member on duty of your intentions to request for copies of records.
  • The staff member on duty would ask you about the records that you wish to obtain. You should at least know the name of the subject of the background check. It would help if other information is available.
  • Using their database, the staff member on duty would attempt to locate the records regarding the subject at their office.
  • If there are records, the staff member would produce them. If there are no records, you would be informed of that fact.
  • Once you are sure that the records are the ones you require, request for copies of the same.
  • The staff member would determine your required fee and direct you to the cashier where you must pay the fee.
  • Return to the records division and present the receipt before claiming your copy.
